Tomorrows Green Field Trip!
The Tomorrow's Green Field trip is so much more than a field trip!
First we work to help schools develop specific curriculum that caters to their specific needs. We can help prepare videos, lesson plans, and will help integrate our educational plan into any unit or area of focus. We believe that a successful experience starts in the classroom.
Next we organize a planting date where we take anywhere from 40 to 60 students out to a local restoration site. We focus on 4th and 5th grade and can split larger schools between multiple days. The kid's get to plant trees and native plants all apart of a real restoration effort. They also hear from our staff biologist Ted Mullen and the city of Santa Barbara's Creeks and Clean Water Manager, Cameron Benson.
Finally, after the field trip is over, we bring in oak saplings for students to plant at home or school to serve as a permanent reminder of the importance of environmental conservation.
We feel that our 3 step process involving classroom education, a hands-on field trip, and personal oak sapling helps instill positive values in the next generation. They will be faced with all of the environmental issues handed down from previous generations and will ultimately be the ones to help solve said problems.
We are raising the future leaders, voters, and citizens of tomorrow with environmentalism as a core value.
